Bruce Carmel has been an educator for over twenty-five years. He has worked in public schools, colleges and universities, libraries, summer camps and community-based organizations. He currently works as a Senior Director at FEGS Health and Human Services, one of New York City’s largest nonprofit organizations. Dr. Carmel is founding member of the New York City Coalition for Adult Literacy and serves on that group’s Steering Committee. He also sits on the Board of Directors of the New York Association for Continuing/Community Education where he chairs the Legislative Committee. He earned his Bachelor of General Studies degree at the University of Cincinnati, and his Master’s Degree and Ph.D. from New York University.
